Beautiful post Robin. Words are indeed poor things in the vastness of love but we have hitched humanity's wagon to words and so here we are, an impoverished species. There are times though that a certain heart felt yadayadayada will plant a seed that will flourish in another heart and there are many times when a smile will do the same. You my friend are a master of both. Thank you.

People who do, care and have love for others, whether through deed or action, rarely share this activity with others. If they do tout these characteristics, all their efforts are lost in self-proclamation.

Therefore, how would I know if they had these qualities or not?

Dear Teresa, Welcome. And thank you for this very wise comment. I have found as I get older that there is something about these loving, compassionate and wise souls that SHINES. By "shine" I don't mean that they are flashy, vocal or demonstrative, rather (for me) they radiate a great warmth, a deep peace, they feel like an endless star-filled night sky or woodland air after heavy rain. There is something about them that just feels "right" inside my body, even without words. Thank you for your sharing here. It is much appreciated.

Hi She! :)

To tell you the truth, I know none, no one I can think off that shows love, don't know if I don't look hard enough, but I don't think there are a lot of these kinds left on mother earth. But..

If I have to think of someone, i would say, like so many of your readers, that you are the perfect example! Your love for nature manifests on this blog. I have never (that i can think of) read anywhere on your blog about any complaints you have, or anything bad at all, all good and all your words filled with love!
you are the perfect example, and might very well be the last of your kind left on this earth!

My dear amazing "HE", I hardly know where to start. I sit with tears in my eyes and am touched by so many things in this heartfelt comment. First I have known you to be nothing but deeply sincere, kind, forgiving and honest, qualities that are commendable and healing for others to be around. I have often found that if I take the initiative around others and reach out and model love, that something in them awakens and they begin to follow suit. They begin to awaken and start to realize that someone cares, that love exists, that there is hope and goodness in the world. They will become what we too seek. They become who they REALLY are. I find kindness and love the easiest things to share, but often people have forgotten how to love or even about love. By modeling what we want from others, others often become what we also need. And we also become more of we really are. Maybe you are meant to be a leader or initiator of love. I do know that you see the world through very special eyes and have much to offer others.

Also, there really aren't words to express how touched I am by your kind and generous words. They made me take another serious look at myself and also invited me to claim who I am and want to be in the world. You made me realize once again how everything we do ripples out and effects the world around us (even when we don't necessarily know it or see it). You have given me a huge gift and much to think about. Things that will help me grow and become more loving and aware. Thank you, He, so very much.

I commented here a few posts ago and I remember the nice complement you had for a phrase I left. So here's another one that popped into my head today.
You're on top of the world if you spin the globe the right way.

Love, Compassion and Forgiveness - good stuff and big goals.
I like simple but don't you think there are a few ingredients to add to the mix. I just recently posted some thoughts about wonder and mystery.
Thanks.

Dear Lisleman, I was just at your site and come her and find you have visited me. By the way I really enjoyed your post on "The Mystery". ----I like your new phrase about being on top of the world. Yes, if we spin the globe the right way. Very nice. ---And a resounding YES! to wonder and mystery, two of my favorite feelings/experiences as a human being. I adore both wonder and mystery and live a life that keeps me in touch with both every single day. They are what keep my young and hungry for life, learning and awareness. I cherish anything that instills wonder and mystery in me, and there are SO many things in life that do both. Thank you, Lisleman, for your wise sharings here. They are much appreciated.

How very thought provoking. My dear late Father always taught me to put myself in others shoes before making any judgment, this has had a profound effect and has (I hope) made me a compassionate person who feels others pain, sometimes a little too much for my own comfort.
I do think if we all treated others as we would wish to be treated the world would be a much less complicated place.

Dear Jan, It is wonderful to see you here. I am honored. You have a lovely site. I am moved by your sharing. Your father sounds like he was a deeply kind man who listened to and lived from his heart. It is such a huge gift he gave you. That gift is definitely evident both here in this sharing and on your site. I felt it the moment I visited you. And now you pass it on to others. It goes to show how important the things we teach our children, and how far reaching they can be. I also understand being so open as to feeling others pain, even over great distance. I too experience this and continually do a dance that mingles both being open and feeling others pain and letting go so as not to become too drained. Feeling others pain is a small price to pay for being so open that we experience the unbridled passion of Life.

Hi Robin.

Your article is a timely one. Many people are seeking a way back to a more simple life, one with out the dash and flash.

There are many of these people in my own life and your article is an important reminder to stop and give gratitude those humble souls.

You said it best when you talked of growing weary of words. Even though I am a word smith I know what you mean.

To do, to act, to love and forgive in a simple uncelebrated moment is to feel the sea of infinity wash through the soul. Ahhh! peace.

Nick

Dear Nick, You wrote: "To do, to act, to love and forgive in a simple uncelebrated moment is to feel the sea of infinity wash through the soul." You are definitely a wordsmith. I felt this line in my gut when I read this, an immediate "feeling" response. It made me feel loved, infinite, eternal and profoundly safe. What makes you such an extraordinary wordsmith is that you so often "emote" your insights right from your heart into the hearts of your readers. I have felt this on many occasions while reading your insights. It is simple and uncomplicated and doesn't force me into my brain to understand and then translate what you are saying into "feelings". Phew! That can be exhausting. You simply speak your heart in a way that allows me to stay in my heart and "feel" in my soul what you are sharing. Such a beautiful gift. As you say, "Ahhh! Peace." Yes, very much so.

PS: I also am finding that people are seeking a more simple direct way, a more heartfelt way, one in keeping with the simple flow and truth of Life, the Universe. I am finding this more and more every single day.

Robin, every now and then I spot someone walking along the sidewalk, or in a store, or somewhere anywhere, who really moves me. We'll connect by looking at one another, and then there is a smile, and I could honestly get lost in their eyes. It's like true wisdom and love looking at me - as if I know them, without knowing them. I'm always startled by this when it happens. It's not as if they are doing something kind, or really doing anything at all. It's the smile, the eyes, the knowingness of them, that makes me feel the pure joy.

I think there are people around everywhere who are so connected to themselves and to everything and everyone else, that they just exude this in their every day existence. Just to see them is enough. To be around them everyday would be a blessing.

I believe that everyone on earth has this energy - some less obvious than others. But everyone has the capability of this, and unfortunately this spirit/wisdom/love gets flattened by modern society and fast-paced living.

I see you as one of these blessed people. You are inspiring! Love and peace to you always, my dear friend! :)xoxoxoxo

Dear Ophelia, You are indeed a sensitive and aware soul. You move through the world aware of it all. And even though also are aware of the suffering and things that need changing you are ALWAYS aware of the beauty. I love that about you. Yes, there are so many beautiful souls who are connected to themselves and the world. I am always amazed at the beauty I see in people. You are right in that when we just see these souls or to connect of a single moment or an hour they are unforgettable. It is a blessing. To have them in our lives everyday is astounding. I also believe that it is who we all ARE. When we truly see ourselves we can be nothing but awed by the magnificent beauty of who we are, and what we are part of...the Great Mystery. I believe that is what we are here to see, awaken to. Once we see it in ourselves we see it in everything and everyone. You are one of these blessed people in my life, right from the start...and always. And yes, love and peace to you my dear friend.

Mi querida Robin,
This is so true. We should live LOVE.
Life has been complicated lately, and lovely nature has been neglected by this girl, I confess :(
I'm currently trying to move forward and not be so affected by things happening to or around me, my family or my friends... but I can't.
I so want to be of help and it is frustrating not to be able to. I want to live love, my friend, and I'm not sure if I'm able to...
Besos,
Mel

p.s. On a brighter note, my dear Tommy is back after six months away and I hope to dedicate more time to personal projects... I need a change SOON.

Robin Replies
Dear beautiful Mel, I am touched by this honest poignant sharing. First off, I would have to say that to be YOU, is to BE Love. You already are those things my querida. It's just who you are. Kindness shines from you into all those around you. Sometimes it can be hard when we can't help another. sometimes we just have to let go. Make sure you are taking care of YOU. You deserve to look after yourself and live YOUR life in the way that you need to so that you feel happy, full of Life and at peace. If we don't give this to ourselves it is almost impossible to give it to another person. Sometimes it is easier for us to give to others than to give to ourselves. I wish for you courage to make the changes that you need to that will instill Life in you and bring you joy and peace. I am also so glad that Tommy is home. Make sure you take time to be kind, loving and forgiving to yourself. And enjoy your precious time with Tommy. Life is too short to do otherwise. Besos my dear Mel

Dear beautiful Mel, I am touched by this honest poignant sharing. First off, I would have to say that to be YOU, is to BE Love. You already are those things my querida. It’s just who you are. Kindness shines from you into all those around you. Sometimes it can be hard when we can’t help another. sometimes we just have to let go. Make sure you are taking care of YOU. You deserve to look after yourself and live YOUR life in the way that you need to so that you feel happy, full of Life and at peace. If we don’t give this to ourselves it is almost impossible to give it to another person.

Hello Robin!

What a beautiful write-up! Indeed in life the wisest souls are usually the quietest, the humblest, etc. Your words as always are so full of love and wisdom. So do I know anybody like that.... I sure do ;) In fact I am blessed that I do have an increasing amount of people that fit this write-up in my life and I want to keep moving and expanding in this direction myself.

Excellent reflective questions! Thank you as always and wishing you blue skies and sunny smiles :)

Dear Evita, Thank you so much for stopping in as I know you are quite busy right now. So it's a gift to see you here. I so appreciate your kind words. I also grinned when you said you an an increasing amount of people like this is your life. Now why does that not surprise me? Because you are very open and generous of heart so you have drawn like hearted souls to you. I am so happy for you because you give so much and through these loving and compassionate people in your life you can replenish. I too am blessed this way with the people in my life, and it makes all the difference in the world. As to blue skies: we had snow yesterday, but it's melting today. Your wishes must have worked as we've had blue skies all day long. Thank you dear one. :)
