Ok, so I am kind of late in finding this particular post and have ONLY JUST realised that you are including little film clips – duh! But it would be remiss of me not to tell you what a funny engaging speaker you are – I’m sure that you hear it a billion times but that’s just me adding to the chorus. Secondly – MY GOD your father and mine seem to have been as different as chalk and cheese, my dad was completely silent and brooding and would sooner die than answer the door himself, let alone with all his kids serenading whoever called! Honestly this was sooo funny, I am sorry though as I am only going to be able to read and view your other posts as I get time while I am pecking away at my neglected work, the posts are so rich and deserve concentration rather than a quick glance over which is all I could give them. But How am I ever going to catch up? Huh? HUH? This felt like “meeting” you, I’m looking forwards to seeing the rest and I can only envy your ability to talk to a camera. I can do that with people but with cameras? Noooooo! Ok, ok I’ve calmed down now and I’m going to stop because I’m just babbling

Hey little Bird! I laughed over this comment. It is SO full of Life and zest!!! I could almost hear you talking. Accept in my head you had an American accent! LOLOL!!! Will have to work on that one. As I re-read this uplifting, festive post, my mind is reminded of a bicycle my mom won when she lived briefly in Australia as a teenager. As a reward for an academic accomplishment during high school, she received a bicycle that sort of resembles the one covered in snow in your post (minus the modern gears). I think of it especially because that bike made such a long journey on a boat from Australia to where my mom settled with her family in Canada. That bicycle is still in the basement of my parents’ home. While visiting during the holidays, I was in my parents’ basement searching for particular Christmas decorations and I came across that rusty, nostalgic bike. It speaks to me. It meant a lot to her 50 years ago and it still does today, even though it is not covered in the snow and she rarely sets eyes on it. Thanks for triggering that nostalgic story in my heart. My mom has not been well and has not been in the lower basement for a very long time. She still dreams of joyous memories on that bike. Happy Holidays!

Dear Robin, Enjoyed both your story and your piano playing. Sorry it has taken me so long to comment on your comment. I have been busy writing and with holiday preperation.
