“Spy VS Spy”

Posted by Robin Easton

Many of you saw my last video titled: Things to Do – “Snow Rolling”. (Click title if you missed it). Well, a few days later my brother, Mark Easton, who is an artist and stand up comic, posted a response video to my “Snow Rolling”. You can see his video here. And read more about Mark in the following paragraph. (Watch Mark’s video before you watch my “counter video” below.) My brother and I have now entered a “Spy VS Spy” situation. :)

“SNOW ROLLS” – Mark Easton

Mark has been a great inspiration to me. (In fact he immediately inspired my response video below) He is not only a funny talented guy, but also a deep soul with a compassionate heart. To talk with him is to experience mind blowing insight after insight. A gift in my life, Mark encourages me to be my most authentic self because he dares to “live” who he REALLY is. He has great faith in the process of Life. In many ways he is like me in that he could cry and laugh in the same breath. We have often talked about how Life isn’t just all serious or just all funny; Life is everything, all mixed together and sometimes experienced all at once. I think you will enjoy Mark’s site with paintings, photos, slide shows, gallery appearances and an ARTIST JOURNAL.

In doing these videos I am reminded of several things. One: to not take Life so seriously. Two: to let go more; most of what we worry about never happens or is irrelevant. Three: the time to live is RIGHT NOW…not tomorrow when we have more _____ (fill in the blank). Four: we miss soooooo much living by “waiting” to live. Five: things don’t have to make sense; our spontaneous impulses to act with Life, Joy, Love, Kindness and Creativity can simply “BE”. They ARE who we are and can exist without reason or rationalization. I invite you to seek out Life and actively live spontaneous moments of Joy — for no other reason than you feel them. Like Mark’s humorous video “Snow Rolls” or my videos “Snow Rolling”and “Madcap Christmas Magic” series, and now my latest moment of simple joy titled: Things to Do! – “Desert Rolling” (See video below.) When I received my brother’s funny video I was immediately inspired to do a counter video. How could I resist!! I was so eager to get outside that I grabbed my camera and pack and mistakenly put on my sweethearts jeans, which are about five sizes too big. Didn’t even notice they were his until they kept sliding down. Lol! Aaaah, it all adds to the magic!

Roll on my brothers and sisters of Life.
Love to you all,
Robin

Oh my goodness Robin! That is all I can begin with. You both have me laughing so hard. What a wonderful brother!

Dylan is laughing so hard that he had to leave the room. He said, “Mom, I told you she was crazy…you are not the only one. She has a brother. Now there are three of you.”

I can’t believe you had the wrong jeans on. I have to leave this place. I cannot stop laughing.

Robin Replies

Lol! The thing with the jeans was I kept battling them to stay up until I looked down and saw my legs looking like two sticks stuck inside balloons, especially as the wind passed through the fabric…. and THEN it hit me….they were HIS jeans. I was afraid they’d come off when I rolled down the hill. Oh, dear! Thanks Tammy AND Dylan. You both are just wonderfully alive.

Robin, this is too much for me to handle. You wearing the wrong pants, you rolling down a hill, your brother that is just as crazy as you, etc. My child declares you are my twin sister.

OH, you are such a bag of wonder. You have happiness and you share it.

I really and truly cannot stop laughing. This is my second attempt at a comment.

You are so dear and loved.

Robin Replies:
I had a blast with you and Dylan today with the running commentary on the Stumble bar. Made my afternoon here. There is such happiness emanating from your house to mine. I can feel it all the way across the land, distance is no barrier to all of us laughing. —tell Dylan that he’s right my brother is as wacky as me and I’m as wacky as you….and I’ve a sneaking feeling that Dylan has already caught the wacky bug. It’s too late for him. Lol!!! :) :)

Oh my goodness, Robin, I have the strongest urge to pack up my truck and drive out to the desert (about a day and half drive) and do a DESERT ROLL!!! You looked like you were having the time of your life. I am so jealous. And, Mark is in trouble! Let’s see if he can top that!

Thanks for giving me a pick-me-up and for being an inspiration to all of us city-dwellers.

Robin Replies

Hiiiiiiii Maaaaatt! I loved this comment. You just jumped off the page with your excitement. That’s right, you are in the city right now, huh?. However, it would really be fun to see what kind of playful spontaneous outdoor adventures one could find in the city. I wonder if there are any parks big enough to fly kites or roll around on the grass and think up all kinds of antics. Now, I know I’m going to have to dwell on this some more. —And yes, I think Mark is in over his head. Lol!! —-And Matt, you are most welcome. Love your enthusiasm for life even when it’s fixing a toilet!! :)

Robin it does not surprise me in the least that your brother is so similar to you. His video was hilarious, your reply was fantastic and I am wondering what is going to happen next? Now if you tell me all your siblings are the same then it must be fantastic at family get togethers! I loved the desert roll. It reminds me of a comedy show in Australia where they did this skit of someone rolling from one side of Australia to the other. They were making it out to be an Olympic sport. Thanks for brightening my day. And your brother is a wonderful artist and an all round gorgeous brother by the sounds of things!! What a wonderful sense of humor and how I love to laugh. LOL

Robin Replies

This cracked me up Lilly. The comedy show you describe is SOOOO typically Australian that I felt for a moment I was back there. The Aussies are the MOST creative, wacky and playful people I’ve ever met. They are GREAT rollers!!! And have mastered the art of spontaneity. They are so uninhibited and so….”‘Ave a go, mate!” :) I mean they are the sort that would bridle a ‘roo and have ‘roo races and emu races or cardboard boat races, I LOVE Aussies. They REALLY know how to have good fun! And yes, I KNOW that you, like me, love to laugh! Thank you for that.

Dear Robin,
You are always making the best out of your life. That is such a powerful lesson to be learned, since many of us are on the “waiting mode”, expecting the future to bring the so dreamed happiness. Its become a “cliché”, but Happiness really lives within us. And what I love most about ur comments and your videos, cause I can tell that you know where ur happiness lives. Inside you and now is always the right moment.
Your brother’s video has such an interesting sequence of shots, so professional, congrats to him.
Once again, words and videos so sweet I could eat them. Hi hi hi.
Best Regards,
Marcy

Robin Replies
Dear Marcy, you know I connect with your vibrancy and joy. I really like your phrase: “…now is always the right moment.” Yes, it is, because it is ALL we have…..ALL that exists. Anything else is an illusion. —Yes, my brother is not only a very kind person but extremely talented…in so many ways. He is in love with Life and his joy spills over into everything he does. Of course you and I relate to that! :)

Robin, what can I say? That was even funnier than the “Snow rolling”.

Your brother’s video was hilarious and right up my street – as I watched that I KNEW that if I tried “snow rolling” I would find the ONLY patch of ice in the snow (probably with my nose) and end up in agony! And then there’s more – “desert rolling”!! I just know that if I tried THAT I would end up looking like a hedgehog with cactus spines all over my body!

I’m amazed you could stand at all!

Keep up the wackiness! That has really brightened my day!!

:-)
Cheers
PM

Robin Replies
Dear PM, I love this comment; you made me laugh out loud. I must confess that I as I sit here today and type, I still have a few cactus spines stuck…you know where!! But I am not daunted. Spines and all, I’m already looking toward more adventurous “rolls” for this coming summer. It’s funny how doing these little videos is actually shifting my outlook on life even more than previously. I now walk through my days thinking, “What would be fun to do? What simple things could I do today to make my life more full? It’s all sparked a desire to live more creatively. My brother is like that a LOT; he sees creativity in EVERYTHING and since he’s very spontaneous he acts on what he sees and feels, which brings all this humor and joy into his life all the time. Thanks for making ME laugh today! :)

Kia ora Robin,
Once again laughing away. I kept waiting to see a billowing cloud of feathers from your down vest! Mark may not be the best snow roller, but he seems to have slightly different snow conditions than your video. You have a beautiful day my friend.
Aroha,
Robb

Robin Replies
Hi dear Robb, I laughed out loud over the thought of my vest billowing clouds of feathers….which could have easily happened. I literally was rolling over prickly pear cactus, rocks, sticks and you name it. That was half the goofy thrill of it. (Every time I sit down I can still feel a cactus spine in my rear end. LOL!!) In a way I wish the vest HAD punctured and spewed feathers. What a show that would have been!! :) Well, at least my good vest lasts another winter, which is also nice to know. —-You are right about Mark’s snow conditions. They get rain and freezing and snow all mixed together. Like I had in Maine growing up. In all honesty, Mark is one of the BEST rollers I know. To me “Rollers” are people who know how to live, people who really cherish Life. People like you Robb. Thank you for that my friend.

Hilarious productions, Robin, by you and your brother! I was a little afraid that at any moment you would lose those drawers, but they held up—my, they were big! Loved your dizzying antics. It reminds me of spinning in office chairs…somehow I think you may have enjoyed that activity before. Can’t wait to see what you plan to do next—your fun and ensuing laughter are infectious! hugs to ya! :o )

Robin Replies

Dear EarthHolly, You made me laugh here talking about my “drawers”. In fact, I’m still laughing. They WERE huge. What is so funny is that I was SO excited to go film that I didn’t even notice until I had hiked them up for the hundredth time. :) Now, had I lost them, THAT would have been a site to see. Like Robb mentions in his comment; he expected my down vest to start spewing feathers….well imagine this. A feather spewing, “drawer” losing “desert roll”. Aaaaah, what a site that would have been!!! :) Thanks for the chuckle my friend. I love it.

Does an “ice roll” count? :-) There is a small hill in my front yard near my mailbox and it is currently covered in snow and a layer of ice atop the snow. So, today, after getting the mail, I slid across the ice down the little hill and around the front yard for about 15 minutes. It was great! It was my own little skate rink. Keep on rolling, Robin!

Nicole
“Roll with it, baby” Thank you, Mr. Steve Winwood :-D

As you say, people wait for life to begin when they forget that they decide on the when and how. You have an uplifting way of sharing stories and encouraging remarks. Each gem of wisdom prompts self-reflection in your readers. They begin to realize they share your journey through energy, revelations and dreams. Although people exist at different levels of conscious awareness, underneath it all, they are interconnected beyond measure, beyond appearances. It all brings us back to the unwavering power of love. We are each part of that. The truth is felt.

Dear Liara, this is so lovely and I am honored by your words, deeply so. I loved your lines: “Although people exist at different levels of conscious awareness, underneath it all, they are interconnected beyond measure, beyond appearances. It all brings us back to the unwavering power of love. We are each part of that. The truth is felt.” I too find it heartening and deeply moving to realize that no matter what level of consciousness we each exist on, we ARE connected in the most astonishing ways. Lately I’ve been experiencing the oneness with ALL Life every day. And that bond of Love that you speak of…it often moves me to tears because the feeling is vast like the endless star-filled Universe. Just as a great wave is compelled to kiss the shore, I am compelled to love my fellow humans. There is a beautiful feeling that all is inclusive and so compassionate. Thank you dear Liara

Hi Robin,
I always always love your zest for life – and now I see that runs in your family! Very awesome! And a great roll down the desert hill you had! It reminds me of my kids rolling down hills wherever we find them. And reminds me it would be good for me to get out there with them more often…Here’s to really enjoying life!!

Robin Replies
Dear Lance (AKA – Lace) :) If your kids are already rolling down hills then you are RIPE for a good old roll. You must do it with your kids. Once you roll down see who can stand up the quickest. Lol! Believe ME!!! It is MUCH harder than it looks. I was still spinning when I walked home. But I’ll tell you neither you nor your kids will forget it if you do it with them. They will reach your age and say, “Remember the day Dad rolled down the hill with us. Can you believe he did that? Wow that was pretty cool.” Besides, I just think it’s in your nature to roll down a hill. I think there’s a hidden roller in you. You’re probably a “high roller” — you know, you like those really high hills. Hey, I see you as a courageous risk taker. Lol!!! Now, I’ll be waiting for the video!!!!! :D
