When it snows, I think of Frost:

Whose woods these are I think I know,
His house is in the village though.
He will not see me stopping here,
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer,
To stop without a farmhouse near,
Between the woods and frozen lake,
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake,
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep,
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
         -- Robert Frost

I LOVE this poem Walter. It is one of my absolute favorites and has been for years. It always reminds me of where I grew up in Maine. We had some serious snow there. I used to often recite this poem on moon filled snowy night when I had cross country skied into the woods. So lovely. I especially loved that last stanza "The woods are lovely, dark and deep..." Oh I love that. Thank you for taking the time to write the whole thing here.

Robin, I think you have captured the true essence of nature and one's commonality with it. One word, "soothing," says it all. Beats Valium by a country mile.

There is only one way, really:

To fully enjoy the flavor of life, take big bites.

Robin, each being teaches us in ways that enables our minds and souls to expand. As a person becomes more attuned to the power of energy, that person slowly attunes to levels of love that have never been imagined. You know it when you feel it. You connect on levels that defy words.

Oh yes!! dear Liara. I agree. In fact, when we "...attune to levels of love that have never been imagined"...or..."connect on levels that defy words" we become what we already are...we BECOME Love. Once rooted, enmeshed, bonded with love, it never goes away. We are forever changed.

Hi dear eddie!!! What a lovely story. I am touched that my post could cheer your friend. It is so hard to lose a canine friend that we are close to, let alone have three losses in a year. My heart goes out to your friend and sends courage and healing. Thank you for being sensitive and caring eddie.

Holy cow, Robin. It's been well over a week since I've been to visit...I am so sorry!

I must say I LOVED your video. Lucy also LOVED your video. She came running and barking when she heard the neighborhood dog barking at you! You are so funny...do you remember when you said you are also one who can't hold a giggle in the elevator? I can see that in your video...you're a big kid, aren't you?! I love it! You had me laughing with you, not at you, as I knew exactly why you were enjoying yourself so. I felt as though I were bouncing around in the snow with you! Actually we did have a dusting today and are expecting more, but nothing like the excellent snow you have there. Glad you're enjoying it!

Now I see why you chose a husky for your next life! big snowy hugs to you, Robin! double :o)

Dear Holly, Never worry when or how often you arrive here. I have almost no sense of time. So you are always here. I mean that. ----As to Lucy running to see my video: What it is is that she knows I am going to soon be living in your house as a husky. And she came running to meet her future step-sister. She told me telepathically, when I told her I was coming to live with you, that she was coming back in forty years as a hairless poodle!!! LOL! We had quite a discussion and agreed that she would be the older sister. We hope to do lunch right after we "cross over", before we come back to live with you. Okay, okay, I'm outta here. This could go on forever. LOL!!!

READERS:
I told Holly I was coming back in my next life as a husky to live with her. If you saw the way she cares for her dog you would go back to live with her too. Only she's already agreed to pick me as her next dog. She even put a post it note on her fridge so she won't forget to look for me in fifty years time. :)

Robin, each human being is making snow angels, imprints on their soul, based on their choices. You mention timeless moments with loved ones. How often do people underestimate the time they have left? You remind people the intrinsic value in choosing to see the good in people, choosing to savor every moment you have with loved ones, choosing to relish the momentary experiences that other people might disregard as insignificant. You remind us that to live is to love, to create joy. As people sense that they are fundamentally joy that evolves from formless to adopt physical form, and to transcend it, the role of inner peace evolves within. Thank you for sharing such intimate insight. Nemaste!

Dear Liara, This is such a moving and thought-filled sharing. It brought tears to my eyes. It is both a gift of stark honesty and of hope. Your words: "How often do people underestimate the time they have left?" This brought tears to my eyes and made me think how every day, and I mean EVERY day, dear Liara, I am aware of this. When I looked around at the world and saw this very truth (people underestimating the time they have left) I realized that we each have our own path and so I don't judge an another's course. However, in the same breath I realized that because I don't underestimate, I can share that gift with others. I asked myself, "How can I instill Life in those around me?" In light of that I am compelled to reach out and hug and love and touch and sooth and acknowledge the beauty and life in my fellow humans. And there is so much beauty in them. It makes me weep at times. The amazing part of this is: In reaching out and sharing in this way I not only instill Life in others but I instill even more Life in myself. Life become excruciatingly sweet and so full I can hardly contain the breadth of it, the abundance of it. Thank you my dear friend.

Kia ora Robin,
I had to come and watch this again today, as it so hot here it is almost unbearable! I took a delightful day off work, skipped I should write, and Charlie and I swam in the river and both of us are wiped out by the sun and our skins are browned and had enough! Now he wants to roll in snow, and so do I!
Aroha,

Robin, I finally found you and your blog and I am so glad I did. Now I know why Lilly (and many others) rave about you. This post was truly inspirational! So many people have absolutely no idea of what you discussed in your post, because they either choose not to embrace nature or, more sadly, they just don't know how.

I, admittedly, don't get out into nature nearly as much as I should, although I love it so much. I am constantly in awe of nature's beauty, and I get much pleasure from experiencing nature in any of its myriad forms. My dream would be to, one day, own a parcel of land either in the mountains or far out in the country where I could walk and hike for hours without worrying about running into another soul (unless it was one of nature's creatures).

Thank you so much for this wonderful reminder of the truly important things in life, and a gentle urging for those of us who are locked in the big city to go out to the country and absorb nature. You are right, there probably is no better stress reliever.

I very much look forward to your video series. Best wishes, Matt.

I was moved to tears when you said: "...or sadly they just don't know how." I am hoping that maybe in some way some of my posts or videos will inspire people to reconnect to Nature and Life itself. There is SO much good in the world, even with all of our human horror. In fact, reaching out for the good can help to end the horror. ----I love you dream is a very real and magnificent dream, one I have lived for many years in my life. And one I am, once again, moving back to. I took great joy in hearing your dream as it inspires me as well. Thank you for sharing in this way Matt; it means a lot.

Dear Chrissy, I bet you didn't know that such a "crazily beautiful" woman lurked in the soul of the Deer Keeper. :) But that is the Deer Keeper's magic. She is all things. Like Nature she has an wild uninhibited soul. She is laughter, tears, grief, joy, love and more. It is wonderful to be so alive. Thank you for appreciating my many aspects. Thank you my talented and sensitive friend. Thank you. ---And yes, my sweetheart is so very wise.
